Senior Citizens Activity Specialist (#SRCASPGENG) GENG
$11.90-$18.88 Hourly / $2,062.67-$3,272.53 Monthly / $24,752.00-$39,270.40 Yearly


Performs planning and supervisory duties of craft and recreational program activities designed for senior citizens some of whom have physical disabilities.


Graduation from high school or possession of a GED Certificate; and
Two years of experience in recreational, social, health, or aging services programs.

Or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted below; and
Possession of a valid Driver License.

  • Knowledge of craft and recreational programs for senior citizens.
  • Ability to work with senior citizens some of whom have physical disabilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to schedule, coordinate and conduct senior citizens and physically impaired program activities.
  • Ability to assess craft and recreational programs needs and prepare corresponding programs.
  • Ability to follow established procedures.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain related records and reports.

  • Assists the Senior Recreational Therapist to help develop craft and recreational programs.
  • Conducts and supervises indoor and outdoor recreational program activities.
  • Coordinates and conducts cultural and current event discussions.
  • Coordinates with communuty organizations to facilitate specialized exercise classes as needed.
  • Obtains, accounts and dispenses craft supplies and materials.
  • Escorts senior citizens to and from center and/or on recreational trips.
  • Renders administrative task support assistance at program centers.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
