JOB OVERVIEW

Performs supervisory duties related to building and grounds maintenance, repair, and minor construction.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from high school or possession of a GED certificate; and 

Four years of experience involving construction, maintenance, or repair of facilities or grounds to include one year as the supervisor of either a facility maintenance and repair crew or a grounds or landscaping crew.

Or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted below; and

Possession of a valid Driver License.

  • Considerable knowledge of the procedures, techniques, tools and equipment used in the performance of routine construction, maintenance, repair and landscaping of buildings and grounds.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

  • Plans, schedules, and supervises the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds.
  • Prepares and schedules a preventative maintenance program.
  • Supervises the work of subordinate staff by scheduling, assigning and reviewing work, providing training, and counseling and evaluating performance.
  • Sketches plans and reads and interprets blueprints and specifications.
  • Requisitions equipment and materials and monitors inventory.
  • Estimates time and material costs.
  • Develops and manages the section budget.
  • Inspects projects to ensure quality is maintained and regulatory standards are met.
  • Ensures the establishment of and adherence to proper safety standards.
  • Maintains work related records and prepares reports.
  • Drives to different work locations to review work progress.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
