Spray Equipment Operator (#SPREQOAFSB) AFSB

Performs duties operating fogging and larvicidal automotive or similar equipment in mosquito and noxious weeds control operations.


Completion of the eighth grade; and
Possession of a valid Driver License.

Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted below.

  • Considerable knowledge of traffic and spraying equipment safety rules and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of the methods and techniques of loading, operating, and maintaining larvicidal and fogging equipment.
  • Skill in the operation of assigned equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to prepare routine written activity reports.

  • Operates vehicle and mounted fogging equipment to spray insecticides into the air or on prescribed areas.
  • Operates vehicle and mounted equipment to spray larvicides on water areas.
  • Mixes insecticides and preparations for larvicidal and fogging machines or for control of weeds.
  • Loads and cleans fogging and larvicidal machines or other equipment.
  • Performs preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as required.


Possession of a State of Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Public Applicator License in Aquatic Pest Control and the State of Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Public Health Pest Control certification within the probationary period.
