JOB OVERVIEW

Performs administrative and technical duties coordinating solid waste related activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

An Associate's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university; and
Two years customer service representative experience, which includes one year experience monitoring contracts for compliance.

Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted below; and
Possession of a valid Driver License.

  • Working knowledge of County ordinances governing contracts, operations and compliance.
  • Working knowledge of Anti-Litter Removal and Solid Waste Collection Services programs.

  • Ability to read and understand contracts, associated bonds and insurance documents.
  • Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public and service providers.
  • Ability to use a computer and related software.
  • Ability to develop brochures to promote solid waste programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work effectively with others.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

  • Monitors the contracted Anti-Litter Removal Solid Waste Collection Services program to ensure contractors comply with the terms of the contract.
  • Assists in providing administrative and technical guidance and support to other personnel involved in customer service related activities.
  • Maintains all contract and related administrative records.
  • Monitors activities of contractors to ensure compliance with insurance, bonds, audits, and other legal requirements.
  • Prepares promotional and educational material to inform the public about solid waste issues and how they impact the County.
  • Makes public awareness presentations at schools and community meetings.
  • Reviews customer complaint resolution reports submitted by contractors to verify appropriate resolution of complaint in accordance with contract terms.
  • Responds to complaints to verify validity of complaint and insure appropriate resolution.
  • Coordinates Solid Waste issues with other agencies, departments or jurisdictions.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
