Recreation Program Specialist (#RCPGSPGENK) GENK
$15.15-$24.06 Hourly / $2,626.00-$4,170.40 Monthly / $31,512.00-$50,044.80 Yearly


Performs supervisory and administrative duties of specialized recreational programs, activities and events.


An Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Recreation, Physical Education or related field; and

Two years of experience as a Recreation Leader.

Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted below; and
Possession of a First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification with Practical Application; and
Possession of a valid Driver License.

  • Creates, coordinates, and supervises specialized recreational and educational programs for teens, seniors, children, families and specialized populations.
  • Assists in maximizing use of facilities, increasing revenue and providing varied recreational programs.
  • Assists in assessing existing programs, events, activities and classes to make recommendations for changes and/or additions.
  • Assists in creating and implementing clinics, camps, special programs and other activities/events.
  • May supervise volunteers and lower level staff assisting with specialized recreation programs.
  • Builds and maintains relationships within public and private sectors.
  • Collects fees, makes bank deposits and completes related documents
  • Assists in creating and using marketing information and methods
  • Creates and maintains operational reports, documents and records.
  • Identifies program needs and costs, safety, security and equipment
  • May be required to work non-standard duty hours.
  • Coordinates with supervisor in the scheduling of facilities, programs and activities and projects.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
