Performs professional and supervisory public relations/information duties.


A Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Mass Communications, Advertising, other mass media field or English.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-specific competencies noted below.

  • Prepares press releases, articles, promotional material and similar publications to disseminate information concerning programs, services and achievements of County agencies/departments.
  • Plans and coordinates the development of tours, conferences and other associated events to promote agency/department activities and programs.
  • Coordinates the handling and resolution of complaints regarding agency/department services.
  • Meets with civic and business groups as well as the general public to discuss and secure information germane to the respective department or agency to which assigned.
  • Supervises, trains and evaluates the work of subordinate staff.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
