JOB OVERVIEW

Performs routine duties reviewing documents and collecting information to assist the professional planning staff with land use projects and to ensure compliance with applicable land development codes and regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

An Associate's or higher degree from an accredited college or university.

Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted below; and

Possession of valid Driver License.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

  • Gathers information to assist in the preparation of studies and reports related to land use development, zoning, and other planning projects.
  • Reviews land development plans for compliance with State and County zoning laws and ordinances.
  • Verifies zoning requests by use of legal descriptions.
  • Prepares and maintains maps, charts, and other related graphic materials.
  • Researches, acquires, organizes, and performs basic analysis of data for use in reports, maps, and legal instruments.
  • Researches real estate histories related to zoning, property ownership, land use, and official recordings.
  • Prepares and maintains graphic materials to support planning projects, zoning, and other land use issues.
  • Inspects sites and reviews background information relating to land use applications and the County's Comprehensive Plans.
  • Provides general information to the public on zoning and other land development issues.
  • Assists in the preparation of materials for and attends public meetings, workshops and hearings.
  • Assists in interpreting various land use codes, rules, maps, and regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
