JOB OVERVIEW

Performs duties operating County bookmobiles and delivery routes. Monitors and records the transportation and distribution of library materials.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of the ninth grade; and

One year of experience in the operation of motorized vehicles.

Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted below; and

Possession of a valid Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL).

  • Working knowledge of operation of library motorized equipment.
  • Working knowledge of traffic laws and regulations applicable to the operation of motorized vehicles on public streets and highways.

  • Ability to service and make minor repairs and adjustments to vehicles.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

  • Operates library bookmobiles.
  • Transports and oversees the loading and unloading of library materials.
  • Records the distribution of library materials on computer.
  • Sorts incoming library materials.
  • Checks and ensures library vehicles are serviced and in good working condition; makes minor repairs and adjustments to vehicle, and ensures that periodic maintenance and major repairs are performed.
  • Serves as lead operator; may oversee lower level operators.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
