JOB OVERVIEW

Performs land acquisition, disposition, and property management duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from an accredited four year degree granting college or university with a major in Real Estate, Business, Public Adminstration, Planning, Architecture, or Engineering; and
One year of experience in land or property transactions; land appraisal, evaluation, or title abstracting;

Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted below; and

Possession of a valid Driver License.

TESTING REQUIREMENTS

A passing score on multiple-choice test number 46.

  • Working knowledge of real estate acquisition and disposition.
  • Working knowledge of laws, regulations, and procedures governing the conveyance of and disposition of real property.
  • Skill in inspecting and negotiating acquisition of real property.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to collect, organize and evaluate data and to develop logical conclusions.
  • Ability to organize information into a logical presentation format.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

  • Inspects and collects data on properties to be acquired by the County.
  • Negotiates the acquisition of property valued under a preset amount.
  • Coordinates and conducts closings for conveyance of real property.
  • Obtains signatures on affidavits, reviews executed land, and investigates mowing liens.
  • Coordinates disposal of surplus property valued under a preset amount.
  • Responds to and resolves citizens complaints concerning County real estate.
  • Assists other Land Agents in their work activities.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
