JOB OVERVIEW

Performs manual work of a routine nature in connection with construction, maintenance, and related activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of the sixth grade.

Or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted below.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

  • Spreads marl, sand, gravel and asphalt to repair roads.
  • Loads and unloads trucks.
  • Moves furniture, heavy equipment and materials.
  • Assists in the construction of concrete forms and culverts.
  • Sets barricades and performs flagman duties.
  • Lays soot and cuts and trims bushes, weeds and grass.
  • Performs groundskeeping and custodial duties as required.
  • Carries tools and equipment to and from storage and work areas.
  • Performs routine service and maintenance of assigned vehicles and equipment.
  • Assists pouring and finishing concrete driveways and sidewalks.
  • Maintains drainage ditches and canals.
  • Fills washouts and spreads fill dirt.
  • Operates a cement mixer or mixes cement by hand.
  • Cleans sites upon work completion.
  • Drives a truck to and from work sites.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
