This position performs upper level project management oversight duties of a complex nature. Projects are usually of high visibility, and high impact to the County and Hillsborough County Health Care Plan clients. Provides timely, innovative, and cost effective delivery of services. Provides review, guidance, and training to six Wellness Specialists. Is responsible for the thorough understanding of the department’s business practices and procedures to ensure operational needs are met. Researches best practices and identifies resources needed to achieve department objectives. Manages/oversees the day-to-day operations of three Healthy Living Centers. Coordinates, plans and oversees major Healthy Living Events, such as: monthly Healthy Living focused events reaching out to the communities surrounding the centers with healthy food, health screenings, job placement assistance, behavioral health resources, and many other health related resources. With assistance from Healthy Living staff, reaches out to develop and improve relationships with community partners. Working with Health Care Services management and Healthy Living staff, plan for necessary updates to the current Healthy Living facilities and for possible future Healthy Living facilities.
Bachelor’s Degree in a wellness/fitness related field.
Two years of work experience related to the position duties or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience reasonably expected to provide the job related competencies.

Manages six Wellness Specialists assigned to three Healthy Living Centers. Conducts and completes employee performance evaluations. Recruits and hires Healthy Living Staff as needed. Mentors and provides expertise to other project team members to include direct reports.
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Healthy Living Program and three Healthy Living Centers. Handles staff and member issues as needed. Maintains staff schedules to ensure Healthy Living Center coverage at all times. Coordinates with other county departments for security, maintenance and facility access needs for the Healthy Living Centers.
Coordinates, plans and oversees major Healthy Living Events, such as: the monthly Healthy Living focused events reaching out to the communities surrounding the centers with healthy food, health screenings, job placement assistance, behavioral health resources, and many other health related resources.
Primary point of contact for the Healthy Living Program to develop new relationships with community partners and improve relationships with current partners. Coordinates with internal and external partners to ensure an efficient flow of communication and services. Represents the Department at meetings, functions, and events of high visibility.
Works with Health Care Services management and Healthy Living staff, plan for necessary updates and/or expansions to the current Healthy Living facilities and for possible future Healthy Living facilities. Establishes administrative procedures and guidelines to ensure effective project/program outcomes for the Health Care Services Department.
