Performs repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles and related equipment, and provides customer service for small to medium unit or function supporting Hillsborough County Fleet Management Department.
All Certification Levels:
Graduation from high school or possession of a GED Certificate; and
Certification Level I:
Two years of experience in the repair and maintenance of automobiles, truck, or equipment.
Certification Level II:
Four years of experience in the repair and maintenance of automobiles, truck, or equipment; and
Certification Level III:
Six years of experience in the repair and maintenance of automobiles, truck, or equipment; and

Upon successful completion of training, to include obtaining required certifications, incumbents are promoted to next Certification Level of Fleet Technician Classification. The probationary period may be extended as Fleet Management Department deems appropriate.
