The incumbent in this position investigates complaints of discrimination and civil rights violations as outlined in Hillsborough County Human Rights Ordinance 00-37 and manages those cases. Investigates and manages cases regarding internal workplace policy violation investigations. Manages Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action process for Hillsborough County.
Bachelor's degree in Public Administration or other related area of study. A Master's degree or graduation from an accredited law school may be substituted for experience.
3-5 years of government sector work in Investigations and or Public Administration and/or Project Management.

Critical Thinking-Moderately Complex: Work is broad in scope, covering one or more complicated areas. A very high degree of discretion; analytical ability and logical reasoning skills are required to address often intricate and complex issues, in a fast paced setting, while managing multiple projects, simultaneously.
Decision Making: Highly complex: independent judgment, guided by general direction is required to research and communicate various issues and concerns. Requires high level thinking to analyze issues and trends, and to provide effective findings and assessments in support of various organizational objectives.
Communication: Requires regular contact with high level County executives and BOCC members and staff. Involves considerable tact, discretion, and persuasion to gain the cooperation of others and to preserve a successful working relationship. Requires developing and maintaining ongoing relationships with external government officials. This position may involve handling extremely delicate/sensitive relationships, information, and complex situations. A well-developed sense of timing and an ability to provide detailed explanations and interpretation of rules, policies and regulations is required. This position requires outstanding written and oral communication skills.
