JOB OVERVIEW

Performs duties assisting in the development and monitoring of contracts and grants.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from high school or possession of a GED Certificate; and
Three or more years of experience preparing or monitoring contracts and grants.

Or
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-specific competencies noted below.

  • Working knowledge of county, state and federal laws, guidelines and requirements governing contract structure, procedure and content
  • Working knowledge of formats and styles used in legal documents
  • Some knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contracts and other legal documents
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work effectively with others

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

  • Monitors compliance related to contracts and grants.
  • Provides post-award administrative support such as requests for budget revisions and progress reports.
  • Interfaces with the contract accounting firm to ensure best practices and timely invoicing.
  • Communicates with agency awarded grantees to ensure that they are in compliance with grant requirements.
  • Develops methodologies to measure contract and grant outcomes.
  • Interfaces with the developer of the online grant system to achieve desired efficiencies.
  • Conducts follow-up review and analysis to determine efficacy of grant programs. 
  • Assists in the on-boarding of new staff members in compliance with federal and state laws and county policies.
  • Creates bi-weekly reports of staff time related to specific grants and contracts.
  • Serves as a liaison with employee benefits as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
