JOB OVERVIEW

Performs a variety of routine clerical tasks, including maintenance of file systems, logs and records.  Performs out of office duties including the recording of video footage, installation and removal of informational signs for public and zoning meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from high school or possession of a GED Certificate: and

One year of experience of clerical or assisting in one or more skilled trades or general maintenance work.

Or
any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-specific competencies noted below.

Possession of a valid Driver License

  • Some knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
  • Some knowledge of English grammar, punctuation and spelling.
  • Some knowledge of high school level mathematics.
  • Working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of roadway sign installation equipment.
  • Working knowledge of the preparation and application of materials used to fabricate the signs.
  • Ability to operate a digital camera and video recorder.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to read and interpret maps and aerial photos.
  • Ability to train others.
  • Ability to work outside in a subtropical climate in adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and crouch in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work effectively with others.
  • Ability to maintain files and records.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to safely operate a motorized vehicle.
  • Ability to use a computer and related software.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

  • Maintains logs and records of inventory, services performed, and documents received, and compiles information for use by others.
  • Reviews forms, documents and other materials for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provides assistance to staff and public as required.
  • Performs other clerical duties such as photocopying; and sending, receiving, sorting, and distributing mail.
  • Operates office equipment such as copiers, telephones and data processing equipment.
  • Determines appropriate sign locations and installs signs on roadway easements.
  • Listens to and forward citizens’ complaints, compiles reports, and attends meetings to receive and disseminate information.
  • Operates a portable video camera, utilizing a tripod and handheld techniques, to shoot footage of public and zoning meetings.
  • Drives to and from work sites for public functions, loads and unloads supplies and equipment, and performs minor safety and operational checks.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
