JOB OVERVIEW

Performs responsible cashiering duties collecting and processing payments. Reviews work to ensure accuracy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from high school or possession of a GED Certificate; and
Two years of experience in cashiering work handling money.

Or
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-specific competencies noted below.

TESTING REQUIREMENTS

A passing score on multiple-choice test number 86.

A passing score on a data entry test at 100 gross keystrokes per minute with 90% accuracy.

  • Working knowledge of computerized cashiering systems.
  • Some knowledge of the mission and objectives of the organization to which assigned.
  • Some knowledge of the laws, rules and regulations controlling the processing of official record documents, fees and fiscal record keeping.

  • Ability to handle cash and financial transactions.
  • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations rapidly and accurately.
  • Ability to file information properly by alpha, numeric and/or chronological order.
  • Ability to prepare and verify deposit slips and statements.

  • Ability to work effectively with others.
  • Ability to operate a computer and related software.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

  • Files and maintains records using an alphanumeric system.
  • Responds to inquiries in person, by e-mail and by telephone regarding services provided.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
