Introduction

Responsibilities

Manages all in-terminal and transportation business relationships and concessions including Cultural Sponsorship Galleries, Advertising, Food & Beverage, News & Gift, Parking, Taxicabs, Off-Airport Parking and Courtesy Vehicles, Transportation Network Companies and Rental Cars at the Dayton International Airport.  The incumbent works with the concessionaires and other tenants to negotiate contract terms and conditions, and monitors and enforces compliance with concession and lease agreements.  The incumbent oversees the daily management of the concessions, which includes customer service, quality, pricing, and general facilities issues.  Works closely with the public parking operator to monitor operations, develop maintenance and repair programs for City-owned facilities, and develop and recommend capital improvements.  The incumbent serves as the Department of Aviation's DBE and ACDBE liaison and works with the Human Relations Council staff regarding goal setting, reporting, outreach and communications.  The incumbent is expected to have the ability to read, interpret and enforce lease and contract documents and must have excellent oral and written communications skills in order to effectively present information in public forums.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Aviation/Airport Management, Business Management, Public Administration, Marketing or other closely related field AND 5 years of management experience in customer relations, contract management, project administration, or parking management.

An advanced degree in Aviation/Airport management, Business Management, Public Administration, Marketing or other closely related field AND airport management experience are preferred. 

Degree must be from a college or university that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools Higher Learning Commission or equivalent region.

License Requirements

Must possess a valid driver’s license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter as a term and condition of continued employment.

Special Requirements

Police and U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) fingerprint and background investigations are required to work at Dayton International Airport.

Appointment to positions in this classification will require applicants to pass a police background investigation. Final permanent appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a job-related medical examination, including drug screen, and providing documentary evidence of Employment Authorization and Identity.
