Responsibilities
The incumbent prepares and monitors the annual budget. Prevents budget overruns and
keeps department personnel informed of available funds by maintaining records of all department expenditures
and encumbrances. Special projects are routinely assigned that involve cost analysis and recommendations.
Supervises staff by assigning general accounting functions, report preparation and maintenance of accurate
records. The Business Manager will always demonstrate quality customer service to our partners, external and
internal customers that promotes continuing economic development for the City. The various departments that
utilize this position are: Economic Development, Central Services, Recreation and Public
Works. The current opening is in Recreation.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in Business and Finance equivalency
AND 6 years of experience in accounting, office management, business administration or a related field.
OR
Bachelor's degree in Business and Finance equivalency AND 4 years of experience in accounting, office management, business administration or a related field.
Master's Degree in Public Administration or Business Administration may be substituted for one year of experience.
Degree must be from a college or university that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central Association of Colleges and Universities or equivalent region.
License Requirements
Must possess a valid driver’s license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter as a term and condition of continued employment.
