Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Division Manager, uses initiative and independent judgment to manage an office with diverse activities and to supervise several clerical, inventory control, and dispatch personnel. Establishes office procedures and recommends clerical staffing level and equipment needed to provide services to operating personnel, the general public, and other government offices. Trains or provides training programs for clerical subordinates and service delivery personnel. Participates in the development, management and maintenance of agency information systems. Prepares and monitors the agency's budget. Uses independent judgment and may make minor operating decisions. Maintains knowledge of division operations. Demonstrates tact and diplomacy in dealing with the public and other organizations. Develops and establishes an inventory control system. Prepares and monitors service contracts, concessionaire agreements and other such contracts. The various departments that utilize the Office Supervisor II are Water, Public Works and Human Resources. The current opening is in the Water Utilities Field Operations Division of Water.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s Degree in an Administrative, Managerial or Business related field AND 2 years of office management or office supervisory experience.

Degree must be from a college or university that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central Association of Colleges and Universities or equivalent region.

License Requirements

Must possess a valid driver's license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter as a term and condition of continued employment.

Appointment to positions in this classification will require applicants to pass a police background investigation. Final permanent appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a job-related medical examination, including drug screen, and providing documentary evidence of Employment Authorization and Identity.
