Introduction

Nature of Work

Maintain the operating condition of roofs on facilities owned or operated by the district.  Support the maintenance of district facilities to provide a clean, safe, accommodating and aesthetically appealing learning environment.  Receive roofing related repair requests and travel to district facilities and conduct repairs and maintenance according to applicable building codes, state regulations and department requirements.

Minimum Experience

Must have 4 years of work related experience in roof repair and maintenance.  Must have knowledge of roofing related building codes and safety regulations.

License Requirements

Must possess a valid driver’s license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter as a term and condition of continued employment.


General Requirements

Must pass an Ohio Department of Education T8 physical.

Special Requirements

Must obtain and maintain a general contractor license in Montgomery County, Ohio.

Citizenship

Must be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the United States at time of application.

Background Investigation

Must be able to pass the Federal and State Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation background check in accordance with Section 3301-83-06 of the Ohio Administrative Code.

Military Credit

Open Competitive applicants who have had military service will receive an additional credit of 20% if a passing grade is attained.  To obtain credit, a NON-RETURNABLE copy of the DD214 OR Certificate of Service (INDICATING Honorable Discharge) must be PRESENTED at time of examination.


Notes

In the event of identical exam scores, the tie will be broken in favor of the candidate who received military credit.  If a tie score still exists, the tie will be broken by a random selection method.

Examination dates and times are subject to change. Calculators will be provided for the Civil Service examination. Final appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a job-related medical examination, drug screen and/or police background investigation and providing documentary evidence of Employment Authorization and Identity.  Applicants are responsible for providing all necessary employment dates, experience, training, or any other requirements as stated in the Exam Announcement, in order for their application to be considered for certification and admittance to the examination process.
