The Division of Parks and Recreation oversees more than 26,000 acres in 17 state parks, and the Brandywine Zoo. The division protects cultural and historic resources. And it provides a wide variety of recreational facilities for Delawareans and visitors.

Summary Statement

This position will assist the Parks office of Design and Development by providing administrative support including but not limited to budget preparation and tracking, procurement, fiscal monitoring, and support services.

Essential Functions

Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class.   • Responsible for assisting with tracking project expenditures and maintaining current balances of Capital Budget Appropriations and Grants generating summaries to be used in Division publications including the Capital Plan and Annual Report.
  • Responsible for providing support to the Office of Design and Development in the preparation and tracking of procurement documents including proposals, contracts, change orders and other supporting documents.
  • Responsible for assisting the Office Design Development in other administrative functions such as support during the bid process.
  • Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability, and good communication skills.
  • Maintains a positive attitude.
  • Other duties are required.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Contract Coordinator
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
  1. Six months experience compiling, analyzing and interpreting financial data to ensure effective and efficient accounting of funds or to make projections for financial planning.
  2. Six months experience in using standard computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets or databases.
  3. Knowledge of budget management and control which includes managing a budget for the purpose of keeping expenditures within the limitations of available appropriations and available revenue and maintaining, monitoring, projecting and controlling a budget within set policies and procedures.
  4. Possession of a valid driver’s license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).

This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.
