This is the third level of administrative
specialist work, which provides administrative, technical, program, and/or
office support in a variety of operational areas to the Executive Director of
the Police Officer Standards and Training Commission (POST) and the Police
Accreditation Commission (DPAC). In addition to work performed at the
Administrative Specialist level, employees are assigned as the principal
administrative specialist for large, complex operations, requiring
comprehensive or advanced specialized knowledge of legal, program, or other
requirements, laws, rules, and regulations to respond to or resolve
administrative matters. Examples of large, complex operations include an entire
division or large operating sections within a division/department;
facility/regional/county offices supporting 24/7 operations such as hospitals
or treatment services, corrections, enforcement, state parks, or toll/highway
maintenance; or state-level boards/commissions. Typically, only one position at
this level is assigned to such operations as lead or top administrative
specialist.
In collaboration with the Executive Director, the Senior Administrative
Specialist will provide guidance to all levels of management on policy
questions and administrative matters. The Senior Administrative Specialist will
maintain confidentiality with sensitive information, prepare meeting minutes
and agendas, create documents, format tables/columns, analyze
data to make projections, create spreadsheets, conduct research and analyses of
agency services, and coordinate operations to accomplish POST goals. Work needs
to be performed effectively and efficiently with minimal error.
