Summary Statement

The Delaware Department of Justice Criminal Division seeks a Deputy Attorney General to serve in a leadership position as an Assistant Unit Head in the Domestic Violence Unit in New Castle County. 


Essential Functions

The Assistant Unit Head will support in managing a busy trial Unit which includes 7 attorneys, 4 legal assistants, and 2 legal administrative specialists, in the prosecution of domestic violence cases in both Superior Court and Family Court.  This Unit works with all law enforcement agencies in New Castle County handling felony and misdemeanor cases.  In addition to mentoring and training Deputy Attorneys General in the Unit and assisting in the management of the day-to-day operations, this position will assist the Unit Head in representing the Department of Justice in meetings with the Domestic Violence Coordinating Counsel and assist in providing trainings to law enforcement and other entities throughout the State.  

Job Requirements

The Assistant Unit Head must have a good working relationship with police agencies and the Court and should have an understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence and evidence-based prosecution.  Membership in the Delaware Bar is required.
