The incumbent performs complex health risk assessments in accordance with the Regulations for: State of Delaware Food Code, Milk and Milk Products, Ice Regulations, Body Art Establishments, Private Drinking Water, cosmetology, and public swimming pool. Duties include: consulting with owners/permit holders about regulations, assist in developing plans for compliance, conduct routine health inspections, impose fees, write violation letters and initiate legal action, sample and test water and food, investigate complaints, and conduct joint inspections with other agencies when necessary.
