Summary Statement

This Casual/Seasonal position will serve as the Department's IT Inventory Coordinator: obtaining quotes from vendors and ordering, and transporting, organizing and ensuring the physical security of IT equipment/supplies. Position will have to be able to carry 50 pounds, and bend, stoop, lift, push/pull, carry, and occasionally crawl under furniture to access/move equipment. Position has Statewide duties, requiring travel in a state vehicle.

Essential Functions

  • Collects, receives, marks, sorts, stacks, distributes, and inventories supplies, materials, equipment, parts, or other articles.
  • Locates and selects material, supplies, tools, equipment, parts, or other articles from stockroom, warehouse, storage yard, or other related areas.
  • Adjusts, repairs, assembles, or prepares products, supplies, equipment, or other items according to specifications or customer requirements.
  • Operates a variety of equipment for the purpose of preparing, inspecting, weighing, evaluating, recording, marking, or transporting supplies, materials, equipment, or other articles.
  • Records type, quantity, value, or location of material, supplies, equipment or other articles received, shipped, used, or issued. 
  • Cleans and maintains supplies, tools, equipment, instruments, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations; ensures security of inventory. 

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Supply, Storage and Distribution Coordinator
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Two years experience in inventory control such as ordering, receiving, tracking, storing and handling inventory; disbursing materials, supplies and equipment. 
  2. One year experience in planning, directing and coordinating the supply, storage and distribution operations within a facility or warehouse.
  3. One year experience in creating reports which includes combining and presenting data from multiple sources in an organized format. 
  4. One year experience in using standard computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets or databases. 
  5. Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through course work, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others; OR supervising staff which may include planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others; OR supervising through subordinate supervisors a group of professional, technical, and clerical employees.

This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.

The State of Delaware recognizes the value of telework and flexible working schedules. This position is eligible for Telework and Alternative Work Schedules according to the State of Delaware’s Alternative Work Arrangement Policy., but applicant must live within 90 minutes of Delaware Youth and Family Center (1825 Faulkland Road, Wilmington DE) as this position requires the ability to physically report to this office location. More information will be shared at the time of interview. 

Conditions of Hire

Criminal background check:  A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire.  The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.

Pre-employment Drug Testing:  Upon a conditional offer, you must undergo pre-employment drug testing as part of the hiring process.

As a condition of hire you must possess a valid driver's license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
