The Delaware Department of Agriculture is currently
seeking a Meat Compliance Investigation Officer. This position performs
inspection of meat and meat products, poultry and poultry products, and fish
and fish products to determine compliance with federal and state laws and
regulations relating to standards of wholesomeness, purity, quality, quantity,
and sanitation, prior to release into commerce. Meat Compliance
Investigation Officers work with facilities/plants to verify that Sanitation
Standard Operating Procedures and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point
plans include innovative approaches to controlling pathogens, comply with all
regulations, and address food safety hazards and risk. Meat Compliance
Investigation Officers serve as technical a resource for facilities to update
and improve sanitation and food safety practices.

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Meat Compliance Investigation Officer
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

As a condition of hire a satisfactory background investigation is required by the National Agency Check and Inquires (NACI).
Upon a conditional offer, you must pass a color vision test to meet the requirements of the position.
As a condition of hire you must possess a valid driver's license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
All new hires are required to report to the Statewide New Employee Orientation (SNEO) on their first day of employment. Sessions are held at designated locations in Kent or New Castle County.As a condition of hire applicants must successfully complete all required training to obtain a Food Inspector License by the end of the one year probationary period.
