Due to the current COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, DTI has implemented temporary telecommuting arrangements for newly hired employees whose job duties are conducive to working from home. These arrangements are expected to be short term and will be monitored by DTI supervisors.
Principal
responsibilities include overall management of the stated discipline for which
his/her team is responsible: software development, project management, or
quality assurance. Position will be
responsible for applying creative energies to resolve problems and issues, and
to manage and develop staff.
Responsibilities also include applying and encouraging leading-edge
thinking, prioritizing value-adding initiatives, and providing close technical
management of the process and managing/mentoring software development, ERP
software development/configuration, project management, or quality assurance
team members.
Responsibilities may include managing the entire software development life cycle, assisting client agencies in prioritization of maintenance and enhancement projects, and resource allocation. Responsibilities will include career development of the team including training plans, performance appraisals and scorecards, and generally overseeing the design, construction, quality, and/or management of applications software development and enhancement projects.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced manager with a minimum of 5 years of management experience, preferably in the I.T. (Information Technology) arena, with particular emphasis on the specific discipline for which he/she is responsible. The ideal candidate must be a fast learner with excellent communication, documentation, and follow-up skills, and must be comfortable speaking in front of audiences, technical and non-technical alike, at all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate must be able to resolve conflicts within the team and interface directly with other SDMs, with the Team Leader, and with counterparts in other agencies in order to accomplish stated objectives. The ideal candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision as part of a multidisciplinary team. Must be able to work with other members of a world-class Application Delivery Team to deliver software solutions on time and on budget.
