Due to the current COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, DTI has implemented temporary telecommuting arrangements for newly hired employees whose job duties are conducive to working from home. These arrangements are expected to be short term and will be monitored by DTI supervisors.

 

Summary Statement

Principal responsibilities include overall management of the Microsoft Office 365 product line; contract management, financial and quantitative analysis, relationship management, strategic planning, value engineering, team leadership, and project management.  Position will be responsible for applying creative energies to resolve problems and issues, and to manage and develop vendor relationships and solution implementation.  Responsibilities also include applying and encouraging leading edge thinking; prioritizing value-adding initiatives by managing a Governance structure that includes end-users, a Center of Excellence and an Executive Committee. Delivering consistent policies and procedures across all consumed resources, ensuring the continued adherence to security policies and procedures and providing close technical management of the process and managing/mentoring software development, project management, or quality assurance team members. 

Responsibilities will include managing the software development life cycle, release management, assisting client agencies in development of IT strategic planning and adoption of services, resource planning, service – process – operational and staffing readiness, and generally overseeing the planning, implementation and lifecycle of application enhancement projects.

The ideal candidate must be a fast learner with excellent communication, documentation, and follow-up skills, and must be comfortable speaking in front of audiences, technical and non-technical alike, at all levels of the organization.  The ideal candidate must be able to resolve conflicts within the team and interface directly with other Managers, Directors, and counterparts in other agencies in order to accomplish stated objectives.  The ideal candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision as part of a multidisciplinary team.  The ideal candidate will have lead or been a part of an O365 deployment with a deep understanding of the O365 products and associated support services.

The Service Delivery Engineer for Microsoft O365 will report to the DTI Director of Enterprise Collaborative Services.

Selective Requirement

Selective Requirements must be met in addition to the job requirements.  Applicants who do not possess the selective requirement will not be qualified.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience administrating Office 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams, and Azure Active Directory

Preferred Qualification

Applicants who do not possess the preferred qualification will still be eligible to compete for this position if job requirements are met.

  • Understanding or experience of Microsoft Government Cloud
  • At least one of the following Microsoft 365 Certifications: Teams Administrator Associate, Messaging Administrator Associate or Enterprise Administrator Expert

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Service Delivery Engineer
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in an IT discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in the IT industry with thorough knowledge of programming concepts, design, procedures and practices and is proficient in all stages of the software product life cycle.
  • Possess good communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
  • Possess a project management knowledge and a minimum of 5 years of experience working successfully with a wide range and large number of people or organizations on a variety of projects and technology areas.
  • Possession of experience in government contract development and negotiation is preferred.
