A Legislative Aide is generally assigned to two or three Caucus members. In addition, he or she may be assigned to specific committees, providing research and other administrative support solely to that group. Due to the nature of the assignments and continuing interaction with the news media, constituents and the general public, the Legislative Aide must use significant tact and discretion in dealing with highly sensitive and confidential information.
Assignments are generally diverse in nature and often have conflicting time priorities. Legislative Aides must be able to work independently, manage tight schedules, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Commuting to Legislative Hall in Dover for approximately 75 days a year is required.
