Introduction

The Strategic Information Systems Project Manager will be responsible for all tactical aspects of the project, from requirements gathering to testing and implementation planning. The Strategic Information Systems Project Manager will work in concert with OST leadership, agency stakeholders, and selected vendors to design comprehensive projects plans and seamlessly implement selected services and technologies.

Summary Statement

The Office of the State Treasurer is looking for an experienced project manager to help lead various strategic initiatives, including a multi-year statewide transformation program aimed at modernizing the state’s banking services architecture. Candidates for this role should possess exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills, as well as a passion for process improvement and operational efficiency.

Essential Functions

  • Knowledge of the mission, goals and business practices of OST and our partner agencies.
  • Knowledge of basic financial principles and banking concepts.
  • Knowledge of project management principles, concepts, methods, and practices.
  • Knowledge of scheduling and status reporting techniques.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, assign, delegate, and monitor the work of a major project team.
  • Ability to plan and achieve short and long term goals.
  • Ability to write clear, concise, informative reports.
  • Ability to motivate project team members.
  • Ability to think creatively and to develop creative solutions to operational and technical challenges.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple high-priority requests.
  • Ability to conduct project team meetings.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to evaluate new products and make prudent recommendations for implementation.

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Strategic Information Systems Project Manager

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Two years’ experience in managing complex cross-functional projects.
  2. Two years’ experience in a banking, finance, or technology-related role, either in the public or private sector.
  3. Six months experience in implementing process improvement initiatives.
  4. Six months experience in documenting business requirements.
  5. Six months experience in leadership and stakeholder communications, including status reports and executive updates.
