Summary Statement

This is the entry level of judicial case processing work, responsible for reviewing, preparing, processing, and maintaining a variety of legal/court documents and records. Employees perform the full range of Essential Functions, including routine and standardized assignments, under close supervision. Courtesy, act, and effectiveness are required when providing information to and interacting with various court personnel and the general public.

Essential Functions

Employees perform the full range of Essential Functions, including routine and standardized assignments, under close supervision. Courtesy, tact, and effectiveness are required when providing information to and interacting with various court personnel and the general public.

  • Receives close supervision from a technical supervisor; the supervisor provides specific instructions on all assignments, and frequent and detailed review of progress, accuracy, and quality of work. Supervisory advice or assistance is readily available.    
  • Conducts routine judicial case processing work and assists with more complex processing work.   
  • Seeks guidance from higher-level staff on work that is outside a range of specified, acceptable procedures, standards, alternatives, and practices. 
  • Attends training programs and receives on-the-job training in all aspects of case processing.
  • Learns applicable court operations, automated information systems, computer software, and related procedures, practices, and standards.

  • Communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders, judicial officers, court users, justice partners, and members of the public to gather, exchange, and process information/data.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Judicial Case Processor I 
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
1. Coursework, training, education, and/or work experience in document processing such as reviewing and evaluating records for completeness and conformity with laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures, resolving deficiencies, and tracking and monitoring activities. 
2. Coursework, training, education, and/or work experience in record keeping such as maintaining, filing, tracking, and retrieving physical, electronic, and digital documents, reports, or other information. 
3. Coursework, training, education, and/or work experience in using an automated information system to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve/inquire and report on data. 
4. Coursework, training, education, and/or work experience in customer service such as providing prompt, accurate, and courteous service to customers seeking information, answering requests as quickly as possible, ensuring customers are satisfied with service, and responding to complaints.

This position is a classification organized under an exclusive bargaining representative (labor organization) that has been elected by employees as their representative for collective bargaining and other applicable terms and conditions of employment, in accordance with Title 29, Chapter 59 and Title 19, Chapter 13 and 16.  This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement based on its individual terms.
