Summary Statement

The Business Finance Unit is responsible for administering the financial incentive programs offered through the Delaware Economic Development Authority. As a member of the Business Finance team, the financial analyst is tasked with reviewing program applications, making recommendations on incentive packages, and preparing reports on program performance.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for managing financial assistance applications and inquiries related to incentive programs.
  • Conduct financial analysis, determine eligibility, evaluate credit, determine the funding available and recommend appropriate funding action.
  • Prepare recommendations on applications for funding, including terms and structure of facilities and present recommendations to management.
  • Manage and maintain administrative files related to individual applications to various fund portfolios; including, but not limited to due diligence reports, financial analysis, and related contractual details

Job Requirements

  1. Possession of a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Business Management, Computer Information Systems or related field.
  2. One year experience in financial administration such as comprehensive analysis of programs, budgets, projects, services, alternatives, and costs; financial planning, revenue generation, revenue forecasting, expenditure forecasting, cash flow management and establishing internal control.
  3. One year experience in accounting using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). 
  4. One year experience in narrative report writing.
