Delaware's Attorney General, the State's chief
law enforcement officer, has a broad responsibility to combat crime, uphold
civil rights, safeguard families, fight fraud, and protect consumers in the
First State.

Criminal, Civil, Family, Fraud and Consumer Protection, and Civil Rights and
Public Trust Divisions. Each of the more than 500 staff who work in the Office
of the Attorney General are dedicated to serving all Delawareans with integrity
and passion.
Deputy Attorneys General, with critical
support from criminal special investigators, victim service specialists,
paraprofessionals, and administrative staff, prosecute criminal cases, enforce
consumer laws, provide counsel to state agencies, ensure the public's access to
open government, protect the abused, and much more.

This Assistant Unit Head (AUH)
will serve with 2 other AUHs in assisting with the management of the New Castle
County Felony Trial Unit which consists of 15 Deputy Attorneys General, 6 Legal
Assistants and 6 Legal Administrative Specialists. The New Castle County
Felony Trial Unit prosecutes all felonies that occur in New Castle County
except for homicides, sex offenses, and those related to domestic
violence. An AUH must have a strong working relationship with police
agencies in New Castle County, the Court, and the defense bar. The AUH
must be available for mentoring and training other Deputy Attorneys General and
administrative staff while overseeing cases and operations within the Unit and
conducting other managerial tasks as needed. The AUH must be willing to
observe Deputy Attorneys General in trial and during other Court proceedings to
provide feedback and assist if issues arise. In addition to managerial
responsibilities, the AUH will manage their own caseload and bring on other
Deputy Attorneys General to try cases that proceed to trial.

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement based on its
individual terms.
