Introduction

Anglers may try their luck along the banks of the Indian River Inlet or on the ocean beaches, and head boats and charter boats launch out of the full-service Indian River Marina, offering wet slips, fuel docks, boat storage, supplies and more

Summary Statement

A variety of seasonal park positions may be available at Indian River Marina:

IRM Maintenance I - having the ability to safely operate small tools and equipment with minimum supervision, ability to paint, and perform general maintenance duties.

Boat Yard Attendant- assists full-time staff with mooring vessels, power washing and flushing boat engines at the marina.

Marina Ramp Attendant - responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing outstanding customer service, facility clean-up, grounds keeping, and other assigned duties.

Marina Fuel Dock Attendant- this is a revenue attendant position, assisting visitors with fueling and mooring vessels at the marina, and collecting and accounting for fuel and resale items.

Marina Custodial/Groundskeeper - responsible for the custodial cleaning of bathrooms, facilities and offices, along with the maintenance of grounds, facilities and equipment in the park.

Work is performed indoors and outdoors, weekends, evenings and holidays as scheduled to meet facility needs and must be willing to work around boats and water.

Essential Functions

  • May perform vehicle and foot patrol of assigned area.
  • May collect appropriate fees for fuel sales.
  • May perform custodial services for the dock.
  • Provide excellent customer service and park information to visitors.
  • Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

IRM Maintenance I

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Experience using landscaping equipment and hand or power tools.
  3. Possession of a valid driver’s license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving.

Boat Yard Attendant

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Possession of a state-issued boater education card of NASBLA-approved boating safety course certificate.
  3. Experience operating a boat.

Marina Ramp Attendant

  1. Must be a least 18 years of age.
  2. Knowledge of customer service.

Marina Fuel Dock Attendant

  1. Must be at least 16 years of age.
  2. knowledge of working with money and making change.
  3. Knowledge of math such as addition and subtraction.

Marina Custodial/Groundskeeper

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Experience using landscaping equipment and hard or power tools.
  3. Possession of a valid driver's license (not suspended, revoked, or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
