Located on the north side of the Indian River Inlet at Delaware Seashore State Park, the park's marina features many convenient services for boaters and fishermen. And it's just minutes from the Atlantic Ocean and the Inland Bays - some of the finest fishing grounds on the east coast!

Summary Statement

A variety of seasonal park positions are available at Indian River Marina including the following:  

  • Fuel Dock Attendant – assists visitors with fueling and mooring vessels at the marina and collecting and accounting for fuel and resale items.
  • Dock Hand – assists with mooring vessels in slips and directing boaters to all areas of the marina (office/ship store/restrooms/restaurant).
  • Boat Yard Attendant – assists with mooring dry storage vessels, power washing and flushing boat engines. 
  • Night Watch  – responsible for late night cottages arrivals, patrolling, assisting tenants with any problems that may occur and collecting revenue for transient slipholders.

Work is performed indoors, outdoors, evenings, and holidays as scheduled to meet facility needs.

Essential Functions

  • May collect appropriate fees for fuel sales /cottage damage deposits.
  • Provide excellent customer service and park information to visitors.
  • Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Other duties as assigned

Conditions of Hire

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  DNREC does not provide sponsorship for holders of H-1 B Visas.

Criminal background check:  A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire.  The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.    

As a condition of hire you must possess a valid driver's license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).

Additionally for the Boat Yard Attendant:  Possession of a state-issued boater education card or NASBLA-approved boating safety course certificate OR the applicant must agree as a requirement of employment to possess one prior to first day on the job.

Selection Process
