The Intake Unit with Prevention and Behavioral Health Services (PBHS) is seeking an unpaid intern for the upcoming summer term. This flexible internship provides a valuable opportunity for a motivated student or recent graduate to gain practical, hands-on experience in the behavioral health field within a public service setting.
Interns will work directly under the supervision of a clinical professional to support the processing of HLOC (High Level of Care) referrals and CASII assessments. Tasks will include contacting families, gathering clinical information, completing intake forms, documenting case notes (DAP format), and navigating the State of Delaware’s FOCUS system. Interns will also become familiar with eligibility determination for higher levels of care and the systems used to support children and families in need.
This position is ideal for individuals currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master’s-level program in Behavioral Health, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field. The internship offers flexible hours Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., making it suitable for those seeking to apply their academic knowledge in a meaningful, real-world setting while contributing to the well-being of Delaware families.
