The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) recognizes its Engineers are a highly valued resource and play a critical role in protecting public health and the environment. For that reason, we are now providing monetary recruitment incentives to new DNREC Engineers in accordance to our Recruitment Program Policy and Procedures.
The program provides recruitment incentives as follows:
Sign-On Bonus– Incentives are based on the position classification:
Incentives are paid in two installments. One installment after three months of employment and the second installment after eighteen months from the initial date of employment. New employees accepting this recruitment bonus must commit to two consecutive years of employment with DNREC in the Engineer I-IV series. Must be a new hire to the State of Delaware or new to the Engineer classification series within the State of Delaware

The Emergency Response and Strategic Services Section oversees emergency response, accidental release prevention, emergency planning and community right-to-know, and boiler safety programs. It assists with public communications and manages financial and paralegal support for the Division of Waste and Hazardous Substances.
Click here for more information about the Waste and Hazardous Substances.The incumbent would perform analyses and inspections of technical facilities to the Boiler Safety, Accidental Release Prevention, and Emergency Planning Community Right to Know Programs. This position will review technical information of regulated parties, to include Risk Management Plans, storing and analyzing data, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance, accompanying, and performing inspections with Program staff and assisting with preparation of reports. Additional responsibilities include enforcement actions and other administrative activities as needed.

DNREC Medical Exam: To meet the Division of Waste and Hazardous Substance Health and Safety requirements, applicants for this position must successfully pass a baseline medical examination to demonstrate fitness for duty.
As a condition of hire you must possess a valid driver's license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
