Summary Statement

An incumbent in this class monitors subgrant programs for compliance with state and federal regulations and provides staff support to the subcommittees of the Delaware Criminal Justice Council.

Essential Functions

  • Assists Council in identifying problems with Criminal Justice agencies and develops methods of resolving same.
  • Monitors agency subgrant programs for compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Develops and drafts operating policies and procedures for proposed programs.
  • Trains and orients user agency staff in the policies, procedures and usage of programs.
  • Staffs committees and task forces involved in the research and/or investigation of issues involving Criminal Justice agencies.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Criminal Justice Planner
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Knowledge of criminal justice research which includes systematic study to discover and establish facts.
  2. Knowledge of interacting with criminal justice organizations such as law enforcement, courts, corrections, parole boards, community groups, or local governments.
  3. Knowledge of program evaluation which includes evaluating programs and services to identify problems, determine compliance and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency to ensure program goals and overall objectives are met.
  4. Knowledge of recommending alternatives, improvements, courses of action and other changes based on findings.
  5. Knowledge of developing policies or procedures.
