Deputy Attorneys General, with critical support from criminal special investigators, victim service specialists, paraprofessionals, and administrative staff, prosecute criminal cases, enforce consumer laws, provide counsel to state agencies, ensure the public's access to open government, protect the abused, and much more.

Summary Statement

The Delaware Department of Justice is seeking an exceptional and highly motivated individual to join the Investor Protection Unit in the Fraud & Consumer Protection Division in the New Castle County office as a Casual/Seasonal Deputy Attorney General (“DAG”).

This Deputy Attorney General will be part of the team responsible for enforcing the provisions of the Delaware Securities Act (6 Del.C.ch.73), which regulates the offer and sale of securities and the activities of investment professionals in the State of Delaware.  The Unit investigates and prosecutes (administratively, civilly, and criminally) violations of the Act and administers provisions of the Act relating to the registration and licensing of securities and investment professionals.

Pay Grade A20 DAG V  Hourly Salary Range $59.44/min  $63.38/max 

Essential Functions

This is a challenging position that provides an opportunity to pursue large and complex investigations and cases against some of the best attorneys in the country.  This Deputy Attorney General should be able to work independently and meet deadlines.  Solid academic achievement, relevant work experience, and a familiarity with securities transactions and financial services is preferred.  We seek an individual with a strong commitment to working in the public interest.

Job Requirements

1. Experience practicing as a barred attorney or recent law school graduate.

2.  States you are currently barred including the bar admission date (or willingness to sit for the next DE bar).

3.  Past legal work experience.
