Summary Statement

The Telecommunications Technologist assists with the configuration, implementation and management of all networks and related client services and systems. The technologist has responsibility for the identification and resolution of hardware and software technical problems related to network services such as IP Ethernet & wireless networks. They provide 2nd level support to the Helpdesk as well as agency technical personnel and DTI Operations staff.

Selective Requirement

Selective Requirements must be met in addition to the job requirements.  Applicants who do not possess the selective requirement will not be qualified.

  • Candidate must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience producing accurate project specifications and topology diagrams.

Preferred Qualification

Applicants who do not possess the preferred qualification will still be eligible to compete for this position if job requirements are met.

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA) certification is preferred.

JOB REQUIREMENTS for the DTI Telecommunications Technologist:

  • Possess a minimum of two (2) years’ experience with IP network system devices such as routers, switches and 802.11 wireless systems management.
  • Possess a minimum of three (3) years hands-on experience in enterprise environments.
  • Experience with problem resolution, communication and writing skills.

Conditions of Hire
