Summary Statement

Position assists the Division’s Marketing and Retail Sales Program with marketing and retail events. Functions include, but are not limited to customer engagement, promotion of Delaware State Parks camping, programs, events, pass and permit sales, and retail sales through a point-of-sale system. This is a fast-paced environment and candidates must be able to travel throughout the State and to tradeshows/events as a brand ambassador for Delaware State Parks. Primary function will include operating out of a 23” mobile Airstream travel trailer. Fulfillment of online store products are also inclusive.

Essential Functions

Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class. ·       Represent Delaware State Parks brand and promote marketing strategies.

·       All functions of POS for retail sales operations, including setting up computer work stations.

·       Invoice processing, inventory loads and file maintenance.

·       Order retail merchandise for sale.

·       Order fulfillment.

·       Conduct retail inventory and audits.

·       Train staff in retail functions/operations.

·       Assist with retail marketing; merchandising of inventory for best sales practices.

·       Responsible for managing cash drawers and end of day sales reconciliations.

·       Responsible for Delaware State Parks traveling retail store operations (requires travel).

·       Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills.

·       Maintain a positive attitude.

·       Other duties as required

Job Requirements

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

1.     Six months experience in conducting studies or performing analysis on sales projections and market trends.

2.     Six months experience in retail sales.

3.     Six months experience in inventory management.

4.     Six months experience in marketing brand promotion.

5.     One year experience in using standard computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets or databases.

6.     Possession of a valid driver's license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).

This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.
