Summary Statement

The Principal responsibility is to provide highly effective technical support for DTI’s technical infrastructure.  Highly effective means that the services for the assigned assets are provided in a way that is efficient, meets the needs of the customers (both DTI and other state agencies) and customers in compliance with DTI policy and procedures.  The services will be primarily rendered through a combination of personal effort, joint effort with others in the workgroup, and collaboration with other DTI staff, vendors, and customers. 

The Analyst is expected to possess strong technical proficiency in at least one of the core Technology Domains, modest technical proficiency in several others, and technical awareness in the rest. 

The Analyst will report to the Systems Engineering Manager.  Day to day task assignments may be provided by a Senior Analyst in the workgroup.

The Technology Domains include the following:

·         Microsoft Windows Server Operating System Administration

·         Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server Operating System Administration

·         Web Engineering Support

·         Configuration Management (Ansible)

·         Working Knowledge of f5 Big -IP

·         Working knowledge of VMware Virtual Infrastructure


Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for the DTI Systems Engineering Analyst:

·        Possession of a Bachelor's degree in an I/T discipline strongly preferred or equivalent work experience.

·        Three or more years of technical experience in one or more of the core technical requirements and related product support in a 24x7 operational environment. Experience should include installation and configuration, version testing, debugging, installation of patches, direct technical vendor interactions, tuning and disaster recovery. Core Technology domains include the following:

o    Microsoft Windows Operating System Administration (2012, 2016,2019)

o    Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating System Administration (RHEL, Oracle Enterprise Linux 7, 8)

o    Web Engineering Support (WebSphere, Apache, IIS, WebTrends, XML)

o    Configuration Management (Ansible)

o    Working Knowledge of f5 Big -IP

o    Working knowledge of VMware Virtual Infrastructure

·        Knowledgeable of quality management principles and practices, including a genuine belief in the effectiveness of applying them in day-to-day activities.

·        Good communication (verbal and written) skills, including presentation skills.

·        Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify creative solutions.

Conditions of Hire
