Summary Statement

This position plays a key role in supporting community oral health initiatives by assisting with the coordination and delivery of educational programs. Responsibilities include transporting staff and equipment using a state vehicle, setting up for events, and preparing materials such as program documentation and oral health kits. The role also involves supporting on-site activities by assisting with student engagement during educational sessions, maintaining inventory, and coordinating deliveries to partner organizations.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful public health outreach efforts while working in a dynamic, community-focused environment. Occasional evening or weekend participation may be required based on program needs, and scheduled days off may vary to support operational priorities.

This position requires travel to schools and community events throughout New Castle, Kent, and Sussex Counties.

Essential Functions

  • Operates vehicles providing inter-community transportation of incapacitated persons and volunteer workers.
     
  • Ensures seating and wheelchair restraints are appropriate to the specific needs of each person.
     
  • Performs routine maintenance to ensure safe mechanical condition and cleanliness of vehicles.
     
  • Assists with passengers boarding and exit of vehicles and other facilities.
     
  • May operate facility support service vehicles such as trash, laundry and food trucks.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Attendant Chauffeur
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving). 


Additional Posting Information

This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.

All new hires are required to report to the Statewide New Employee Orientation (SNEO) on their first day of employment. Sessions are held at designated locations in Kent or New Castle County.
