Summary Statement

A class incumbent is involved in general storekeeping and maintenance inventory.

Essential Functions

  • Order material, supplies, and parts as requested and complete PO requests that follows all purchasing rules for the Department of Correction Purchasing rules and contract procedures. 
  • Approves all e-marketplace orders and follows State of Delaware Purchasing rules and procedures.
  • Maintains inventory of all material orders to prevent duplicate orders.
  • Maintains all office and janitorial supplies, orders, inventories
  • Ensure that necessary minimum materials are on hand.
  • Properly dispose of any unneeded equipment/materials
  • Verifies that received products are in proper order and in undamaged condition and returns all products damaged or are wrong product.
  • Maintain SDS sheets for all chemicals ordered and stored.
  • Loads and unloads all materials shipped to and from maintenance department.
  • Operates all maintenance support equipment, trucks, forklift, pallet jacks.
  • Inventory of all shop tools.
  • Keep spare parts room clean and organized.
  • Grass cutting, and snow removal as required,
  • Maintain blueprint room.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR STOREKEEPER 

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Six months experience in record keeping.
  2. Knowledge of inventory control such as ordering, receiving, tracking, storing, and handling inventory; disbursing materials, supplies and equipment.
  3. Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked, or cancelled, or disqualified from driving.
