DTI Associate Software Engineer

Summary Statement

Principal responsibilities include the planning, requirements, design, coding, testing, debugging, system integration, and documenting of software components of complex, multi-tier government systems.

Responsible for developing software for new programs from provided technical specifications, modifications to existing programs, and system integration of off the shelf Products.  Participates in customer meeting to define requirements. Prepares detailed estimates for project time, to meet prescribed functionality, in order to obtain approval to proceed. Tests and debugs programs for the delivery of quality applications. Creates system and user documentation.  Monitors ongoing program and system performance. Generates ideas to improve system design and performance. Interact will all internal teams and customer to ensure successful implementation.  

The Associate Software Engineer must be a fast learner with excellent communication and problem solving skills, and able to work with minimal supervision as part of a multidisciplinary team.  The Associate Software Engineer must be able to work well with a diverse group of team members to deliver software solutions on time, on budget and within specifications.

Selective Requirement

Selective Requirements must be met in addition to the job requirements.  Applicants who do not possess the selective requirement will not be qualified.

Two (2) years’ experience with SQL and PLSQL query language creating Stored Procedures, Triggers, Functions, Indexes, Views, Joins etc.

 

Preferred Qualification

Applicants who do not possess the preferred qualification will still be eligible to compete for this position if job requirements are met.

Two (2) years’ experience creating and deploying SSRS and SSIS packages. Knowledge and use of SSDT would be an asset.

  • Possess an associates degree or higher in an IT discipline OR equivalent work experience.   
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience using TSQL and creating and managing SSRS reports.
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the full lifecycle development and management of client server systems.
