Summary Statement

This position reports to the Court Administrator and is responsible for the statewide management of daily administrative activities of Family Court, including case flow management, court reporting, security, mediation, intake services, case processing and case management. This position carries direct supervisory responsibility of two Directors of Operations and serves as the operational head of the Caseflow Unit and oversees calendar management for Commissioners and felony calendars. Responsibilities include developing policies and procedures for non-judicial functions such as security, record keeping, and space/facilities needs and management. This position is also involved in the planning and development of administrative policies and procedures for the Court.  Additionally, they will manage automated and manual record keeping systems and serve as liaison between the Court, other Courts, agencies, and the public. 

This position requires travel and on-site presence in all 3 counties. 

Essential Functions

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Provides administrative control over the non-judicial activities of the Court by managing the statewide Caseflow Unit and supervising assigned Director(s) of Operations, assuming full operational responsibilities over the county’s court locations in their absence. 
  • Recommends and implements internal administrative policies, rules and regulations statewide.
  • Assists in the management of space, equipment and facility needs of the Court. 
  • Compiles and analyzes statistical data.
  • Directs the record management activities of the Court with respect to the creation, retention and disposition of court forms and records material, and develops administrative procedures to support the operational needs of the court. 
  • Assists in the new case management system project. 
  • Works with the Chief Staff Attorney and Director of Legal Affairs on policy changes and legislative changes implemented within the Court. 
  • Assists the Court Administrator as needed.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
  1. Six months experience in upper level administrative management which includes planning, directing, coordinating, controlling, and evaluating operations. 
  2. Three years experience in developing solutions and providing recommendations, guidance and direction to management or officials in accomplishing organizational and operational goals and objectives and identifying and resolving issues. 
  3. Three years experience in interpreting court rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
  4. Knowledge of developing policies or procedures.
