The mission of the Planning Division is to provide excellence in transportation through an inclusive and comprehensive transportation planning and permitting process that seeks solutions to the state's transportation needs by balancing safety, choice, environmental stewardship, economic development, financial accountability, and quality of life.

Support
regional transportation planning for WILMAPCO and New Castle County, including
study development, data analysis, reporting, and public outreach. Assist in
developing transportation plans and programs to align with DelDOT goals, state
and federal requirements, and best practices. Coordinate with local governments
to review comprehensive plans, zoning changes, and development proposals,
providing long-range planning guidance. Collaborate with stakeholders,
agencies, and the public to communicate plans, gather input, and support
transparent, data-driven decision-making.
