Summary Statement

There are two vacancies to be filled, one at Bally’s Dover and one at Harrington Raceway. The position supervises staff; fosters a professional relationship between Lottery and the casino; ensures proper inspection of gaming activities/equipment; ensures compliance; analyzes procedures; and handles patron complaints. Supervisors must conduct themselves in a manner that prioritizes Lottery needs while fulfilling the public service duties. Schedule flexibility is required. Supervisor may be contacted after scheduled hours and may need to cover other shifts.

Essential Functions

Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class.  Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.

  • Observes and verifies that rules of the table games are adhered to by casino employees and patrons.
  • Observes and ensures that regulations are being followed in the cage, count room, and surveillance operations.
  • Observes and ensures that the table drop is done properly and drop boxes are transported safely to the count room.
  • Observes and ensures that the table games soft count is properly accounted for.
  • Verifies table inventory discrepancies over one hundred dollars.
  • Inspects table game equipment and reserves; approves use prior to being used on the casino gaming floor.
  • Checks that gaming facility employees possess valid licenses and displays badges properly.
  • Documents patron complaints and disputes regarding application of rules and operation of games not resolved by casino staff.
  • Reviews gaming facility self reports of regulatory violations.
  • Interprets and applies applicable laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
  • Maintains and updates records and logs and prepares a variety of reports.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Gaming Inspection Supervisor
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Two years experience in regulatory or gaming compliance work.
  2. Two years experience in ensuring compliance with laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
  3. One year experience in writing inspection reports such as writing activity logs or incident reports.
  4. One year experience in record keeping.
  5. Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through course work, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others; OR supervising staff which may include planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others; OR supervising through subordinate supervisors a group of professional, technical, and clerical employees.
  6. Knowledge of developing policies or procedures.
