Summary Statement

This position is responsible for supporting staff in the maintenance of the buildings and grounds at one of Delaware’s busiest beach locations Cape Henlopen State Park. This position will assist in trades field including HVAC maintenance, plumbing, and general carpentry. Which includes working on multiple bathhouses, air stations for surf-fishing, a year round campground, and preventative maintenance for new and historic structures.

Essential Functions

  • Assists mechanics and skilled trades workers in basic and routine repair and maintenance functions such as plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and other trades operations.
     
  • Participates in inspection as assigned to spot preventative maintenance problems.
     
  • Repairs roof leaks, pumps water, sweeps, patches pot holes, helps inspect vehicles and equipment as needed.
     
  • Assists in snow/ice removal, grass cutting.
     
  • May pick up and transport supplies and materials.
     
  • May perform highway lighting or drawbridge maintenance.

Job Requirements

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: 
  1. Knowledge of operating and maintaining a variety of equipment, hand and power tools used in trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, painting or HVAC.

Conditions of Hire

As a condition of hire you must possess a valid driver's license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
