Originally built to
protect the ports of Wilmington and Philadelphia, Pea Patch Island also became
a Union prison camp during the Civil War, housing up to as many as 12,595
Confederate prisoners of war at one time.
Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class. · Duties will vary for each position.
· May maintain and compiles fiscal and narrative records and reports.
· May operate landscaping equipment and use of hand and power tools. May Perform custodial services in restrooms, offices, and other buildings.
· May assist in electrical and plumbing maintenance.
· May set-up, monitoring and clean-up support for park programs and special events.
· May collect appropriate fees and account for money.
· May maintain and compiles fiscal and narrative records and reports.
· Provide excellent customer service and park information to visitors.
· Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability, and good communication skills.
· Must be able to work independently.
· Other duties as assigned.

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
Grounds Maintenance
1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
2. Experience using landscaping equipment and hand or power tools. (Grounds only)
3. Possession of a valid driver’s license (not suspended, revoked, cancelled or disqualified from driving.
Revenue Attendant
1. Six months customer service experience.
2. Six months experience in sales and cash handling.
3. Six months experience in using standard computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets or databases.
Tram Operator
1. At least 18 years of age.
2. Six months experience operating a truck and trailer.
3. Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).

This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.
